In the 2006-07 school year the New Orleans Public School system undertook a collaborative effort among its departments to design a plan whereby the district would transform itself via a redesign of the instructional model. The plan was formed and a commitment was made across all departments to support financially and operationally the implementation of various technologies and provision of intense professional development to aid classroom personnel in making the best possible use of the tools being implemented.

Instructional Technology Standards -
ISTE has updated the National Educational Technology Standards and Perfomance Indicators for Teachers (NETS-T) and has released the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S). The National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators (NETS-A) is currently undergoing refresh and is expected to be released in Summer 2009. The four links below will provide a brief over view of the standards for each group and a link to the website where more complete information can be acquired.
